Our animals are so engraved into our daily routines that you may not even realize how much care they require. What do you feed them? When? Where? Treats? Medicine?
When do they need to go out? (Oh, I do have the answer for that one - every five minutes throughout the day and half the night. This alone is a full time job.) And I haven't even started on our large outside pets and livestock!
Since our animals cannot advocate for themselves, it's up to us to leave detailed instructions on their care. Whether it is one meal, an overnight emergency, an extended leave, or relocating a pet to a new home - they need our help. We need to prepare someone else to give the best care possible to these loved ones.
Write down their eating schedules, medicine intake, vet contact info, any behavior ticks, etc. Really anything that you can think of that will help someone else understand how your animals operate so everything runs smoothly while you are away. It benefits everyone: your pets, the caretaker and you!
