Don't Forget the Memories!

Even with my meticulous personality on filling out forms, I can't forget the most important things to leave our loved ones: memories, life lessons, hardships, special occasions. Ultimately, our oral histories are what will be carried down through the generations.

I do not have full histories of my ancestors, but even little bits of knowledge are helpful and fun to pass along to my kids. A grandfather immigrating from Ireland in the 1920s; a grandmother saving green stamps for furniture; my other grandparents building their own plane and flying to Alaska! (The plane nor the desire to get a pilot's license made it to me.) Every person has a story to tell, don't let it die with you!
